The Foundation Year. Mother Alice de St. Paul Huchery, the provincial Superior, assigned three Sisters to open a school at the Parish of Sts. Peter and Paul at the request of Fr. Lazaro Ochuga, the parish priest. Fr. Ochuga vacated his quarters to reside with a parishioner\u2019s family to give way to Kindergarten and Grades 1 & 2 classes. Classes in Kindergarten and Grades 1-4 levels resumed and were held in the Church sacristy and in the dilapidated convent.\u00a0 The Sisters were invited to reside at the house of Mother Esperanza Cu Unjieng, RA, located along the Pasig River.<\/p>

Later on the same year, the family of Atty. Adolfo Brillantes offered the Sisters their residence because they saw how the Sisters were experiencing difficulty in commuting.\u00a0<\/p>

Fr. Lazaro Ochuga and Bro. The Sisters, in the succeeding years, continued the tremendous task of improving and increasing the School\u2019s physical structure to accord better facilities, update the competency of teachers, and enhance learning situations for the Makati Paulinians.<\/p>

St. Paul School of Makati (SPSM) presented its first big concert of songs and dances entitled\u00a0\u201cHIMIG Indak.\u201d<\/p>

The Kinder Learning Center was blessed. The gymnasium was undergoing renovation necessitating the commencement exercises for the first to be held outside the school at the San Carlos Seminary.<\/p>

Marie Anne de Tilly Building, constructed on the newly acquired lot along San Juan Street, housing the Grade 1 classrooms and the Sisters\u2019 Cloister, was blessed in September. The school\u2019s facilities had gone through leaps of improvement to provide excellent student services, e.g., the library processes were automated using the OPAC, the High School Science laboratories had been renovated, the Student Development Center (Guidance Center) had been upgraded in terms of personnel and services, the Canteen had been widened, among others.<\/p>

The Musica Paulinos, the school\u2019s official glee club was organized with the leadership of Mr. Jeffrey Buensuceso.<\/p>

PAASCU approved the school\u2019s application for accreditation; the school was visited for consultancy on July 2010.<\/p>

Chrystal Maureen C.Tan was recipient of the Jaycees Leadership Award.<\/p>

Though school year 2009-2010 was a difficult year due to the damaging typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng that ravaged many areas in Metro Manila and the suburbs, the best of the Paulinians surfaced especially when several lay collaborators and students\/pupils and their families volunteered to help in relief operations. The students of Year IV \u2013\u00a0St. Alphonsus, together with their adviser, Miss Glore Vi Vinarao, and the CES Coordinator, Miss Gemma Ordillano, marooned in the community outreach visit to Tahanang Walang Hangdan, became instruments of God\u2019s saving hand for the paraplegics during this risky time. Though they were inconvenienced a lot and worried for their own safety, the group rendered valuable services and comfort to the physically disabled during the height of the flood. Sr. Anthony Ponce, SPC, was the second recipient of the Father Lazaro Ochuga Award given during the St. Paul\u2019s celebration in recognition of almost three decades of her stay in the school nurturing the seed of Paulinian education.<\/p>

Wendy Angeline Pe\u00f1afiel, the Gerry Roxas awardee of batch 2010-2011, was one of the awardees of the Ten Outstanding Students of Makati (TOSM), a yearly search done by the Rotary Club and the City government.<\/p>

The results of the PAASCU Preliminary Survey received in April 2011 were favorable, qualifying the school for the formal visit set after a year.<\/p>

On the feast of the Good Shepherd on May 15, 2011, the Mother Myriam Kitchaoren building was inaugurated with Monsignor Gerardo Santos, MAPSA Executive Officer, and Fr. Estelito Villegas, parish priest of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, as presiders. This structure along P. Burgos Street stands on the lots acquired from the Keng and Almeria families who willingly gave up their properties for the sake of Paulinian Education.<\/p>

The By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation were amended, specifically meant for the expansion of the membership of the Board of Trustees from 10 to 15. The first BOT meeting with lay partners\u2014namely,\u00a0Atty. Sabino Padilla, Jr., Dr. Celedonia Santos, and Ms. Wynna Medina\u2014was held on July 9, 2011.<\/p>

The grand alumni homecoming on January 4-7, 2012, highlighted the school\u2019s celebration of its 70th\u00a0<\/sup>foundation anniversary. The event was started with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Edric Bedural, the youngest priest among the alumni who offered their lives for the service of God and the Church.\u00a0<\/p>

Moved by the thrust to deepen the spirituality of excellence, the Paulinians of Makati exerted their best to develop their potentials to the fullest. Their participation in the 7th\u00a0National Paulinian Science Congress had proven the versatility of the Paulinians, having bagged the gold in the HS Investigatory Project, Song Writing Interpretation, Photo Story, and GS Quiz Bee.<\/p>

The Paulinians are, likewise, starting to make their names in the national landscape with their achievements in nationwide competitions, i.e., National Music Competitions for Young Artist (NAMCYA), Voice of the Youth, Pasiklaban, Robotics, sports competitions, among others.\u00a0<\/p>

The school year 2011-2012 was capped by the TOSM award, which was bagged by two Paulinian graduates, namely, Krizia Subingsubing and Michelle Hernandez, first honorable mention and valedictorian, respectively. Though every year, a Paulinian get recognition among the top performing students, this was the first time that two SPCM students were included among the ten students from the different schools of Makati City.<\/p>

The Math area of the school had also affiliated itself with the Math Teachers Guild (MTG), which opened the doors for intensive training for teachers and students and opportunities for international competitions. Mark Edward Gonzales, a Grade 5 pupil, was qualified in the International Mathematics competition in Singapore where he garnered a silver medal.<\/p>

With the mandate of the Department of Education to implement the K to 12 Curriculum, the School conducted a Summer Bridging Program for 14 Kinder 1 pupils, aged 6 years old by June 2012; these pupils were calibrated to Grade 1 for school year 2012-2013. The construction of the Our Lady of Chartes Building was completed and a blessing ceremony presided by His Excellency, Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani, was held on 18 May 2015<\/span><\/p>

Changes in the facilities allocation were implemented: the Father Louis Chauvet Building housed the Grades 1-3 levels; the Maria Micheau Building became was used by the Grades 4-6 levels; the new Our Lady of Chartres Building became the new home of Grades 7-10 levels, which also housed several new facilities, such as the mini-Olympic sized swimming pool, several Science and Home Economics laboratories, among others. The Pre-school level stayed at the Mother Myriam Kitcharoen Building underwent renovation in preparation for Senior High School.<\/span><\/p>

2016<\/h3>

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the School and the Department of Education - Division of City Schools of Makati (DepEd-Makati) was signed by Sister Anabel and Dr. Dominico Idanan and other DepEd officials in the newly furnished Our Lady of Chartes Building Audio-Visual Room last February 2016. The MoU is primarily concerned with the endorsement and promotion of St. Paul College of Makati's Senior High School Program among public schools of Makati.
The School applied for Technical Education and Skill Development Authority (TESDA) accreditation to be able to serve as a TESDA certification center<\/p>

The School upgraded its facilities to augment school operation, including:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  • Eighty-one (81) new air-conditioning units were bought and installed in different classrooms\u00a0 and facilities.<\/span><\/li>
  • New CCTV units were added\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Office equipment, such as a new risograph machine<\/span><\/li>
  • Improvement in the laboratories, such as the HS Biology Lab, the Robotics Lab, and the Caregiving Lab.<\/span><\/li>
  • New drafting tables<\/span><\/li>
  • GS and HS armchairs\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Additional shelves for the Library\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Fixing of the roof between the Barbe Foucault and Marie Micheau Buildings<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    The school year 2016-2017 welcomed new Sisters of the community: Sister Maria Remedios Cayatano, SPC, as Directress\/Principal; Sister Maria Teresa Andrea Mallillin, SPC, as Christain Formation Head; and Sister Mary Urban Mago, SPC, as the Local Superior and the Finance Services Head. They arrived in May 2016<\/span><\/p>

    The School opened its first Senior HIgh School class of Grade 11, offering the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); Accounting, Business and Management (ABM); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS); Technical-Vocation: Information and Communication Technology (TechVoc- ICT);\u00a0 Technical-Vocation: Home Economics (TechVoc-HE) strands. A total of 214 Grade 11 students were enrolled<\/span><\/p>

    The Senior High School Library was opened. Twenty (20) units of iMac units were procured for the Mac Lab.<\/span><\/p>

    The CE Logic Database with PlagScan by the C&E Publishing, Inc., was initialized by the School to serve as an online database for research and reference, and as a resource to uphold academic integrity in the School.<\/span><\/p>

    The School, in partnership with SBS Philippines and Ateneo Confucius Institute, had offered free Chinese Language classes for its selected Grade 2 pupils.<\/span><\/p>

        2018<\/h3>

        The Academic Year 2017-2018 was highlighted by the collaborative efforts of the Sisters, administrators, faculty, staff, personnel, parents, and learners of St. Paul College of Makati. The school with great jubilation was granted the PAASCU Re-Accreditation Level II Status for Five Years (2017 - 2022)\u00a0<\/strong>in the BAsic Education Program. Noteworthy among the best features of the school include the camaraderie, collaborative and positive spirit that exist among the members of the faculty and the techers' warmth and loving disposition towards their students. Furthermore, th offering of the Distinguished Science Curriculum, Robotics and Research noted to be among the innovations under curriculum and instruction. The sound and effective management of the school's financial resources was also stressed under Administration. Moreover, the availability of the school's resources for community outreach programs paved way to our passion and mission to be of service to the community.<\/p>

                        The culmination of the school year was marked by the 1st Commencement Exercises of the Senior High Program. Pioneer graduates of the program were not only Paulinians but scholars from the public schools. All Senior High School Students went through the Immersion Program with (26) different partner industries\/organizations whereby students were exposed to experience what it is in the workplace aligned to their own field of specialization.<\/p>

                        The Paulinian Community welcomed two (2) new sisters namely, Sr. Ma. Socorro Marcos, SPC and Sr. Adelle Bonzon, SPC on May 15, 2018.<\/p>

                        2019<\/h3>

                        The Academic Year 2018-2019 was a road through innovation, collaboration and acquisition. This school year, St. Paul College of Makati hosted four (4) Benchmaking activities namely: Benchmarking of the Diocese of Bacolod (9) on May 30,2018: Visit of the Vietnamese Sister and SPCM Sisters (8) on September 12,2018; Benchmarking of the Makati DepEd Officials, Private School Administrators and teachers (103) on September 17, 2018; and Benchmarking of St. Paul\u00a0 College of Island Park (4) on November 08, 2018. The benchmarking activities focused on the Best Practices of SPCM highlighting the content , pedagogical approaches and the learning environment of the institution.                                                                 Through prayers and God's providential, St. Paul College of Makati acquired new lot beside the Early years bulding. the school is continously seeking for more innovations to improve our services to all our stakeholders. More importantly to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for all the Paulinians.<\/p>

                                                                The Paulinian Community welcomed back Sr. Esperanza Rafael U. Rodriguez, SPC as our Directress\/Principal on May 03, 2019. She was formerly the Principal of SPCM from 1982-1992.<\/p>
